Public Events
Leeds City Council provides a programme of public events throughout the year. Please check the notice boards for upcoming events.
Friends of Chevin Forest
We meet once per month on the second Sunday to carry out practical conservation work such as path maintenance and scrub clearance. Check the noticeboards for upcoming dates and a list of our tasks.
Wildlife WATCH Group
A family environmental group run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust-registered volunteers that meets once a month. Please check the notice boards for a list of upcoming activities.
There are other events that take place on The Chevin at different times of the year and some of these are advertised on notice boards across the site.
A popular Winter event is the Chevin Chase on Boxing Day with 850 runners competing in a 8 mile race – with the World Champion triathlete Alistair Brownlee competing and winning for the last few years.
The erection of the 40 foot Easter cross at Surprise View is another regular event co-ordinated by Otley Churches Together.
