Otley to be carbon neutral by 2030

In 2019 Otley Town Council set out ambitious plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

On March 25th 2019 Otley Town Council became the second in Yorkshire to declare a Climate Emergency and commit to do ‘everything within the Town Council’s powers to make Otley carbon neutral by 2030′. They were followed shortly afterwards by Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority who represent the 10 Local Authorities in the region and Parliament.

Otley 2030 have been working closely with Leeds Climate Commission, Leeds City Council, Otley Town Council and other local, regional and national communities and organisations to achieve a community level, joined-up approach to develop a roadmap for a climate friendly and sustainable town in 2030.
